As our Front of House Manager, she works closely with the whole team to ensure service runs smoothly, the floor is organised, and every visit leaves a positive impression, whether it’s helping a family settle in for dinner, sharing her knowledge of the menu, or supporting the team during busy service.

Anna’s hospitality journey started at 19, pouring pints in The Temple Bar in Dublin. After exploring her creative side in interior and set design, she realised what she missed most was the buzz of hospitality; the people, the stories, and the opportunity to meet new faces every day. Now living in Chisworth, she’s excited to connect with the local community and help make BANK a place where everyone feels at home.

Whether she’s supporting the team behind the scenes, welcoming guests with a smile, or recommending the perfect dish or drink, Anna helps make every visit to BANK feel effortless and enjoyable. Her passion for hospitality and genuine care for people ensure that every guest leaves with a positive experience, and a reason to come back!

BANK Bar and Brasserie in Glossop is chuffed to introduce its Bar Manager, Karl Stanley, though if you’ve visited us, you’ll no doubt already be familiar with him, whether it’s behind the bar keeping the drinks flowing or making sure every guest feels genuinely looked after. A hospitality pro through and through, Karl has a real knack for turning a bar into somewhere people remember, thanks to a blend of award-nominated bartending, top-tier brand expertise, and years spent shaping some of Manchester’s most loved venues. 

Joining BANK feels like the start of something truly special,” says Karl. “This venue is already a cornerstone of Glossop’s dining scene, and I’m excited to help shape its next chapter, evolving the drinks programme and making BANK somewhere guests feel at home and always want to come back to.”

Meet Ryan Clarke: Bringing Northern Comforts with a Continental Twist to BANK

BANK Bar and Brasserie in Glossop is proud to welcome Head Chef, Ryan Clarke, who is redefining local dining with dishes that blend hearty Northern tradition with sophisticated continental flair.

Clarke brings a wealth of experience to the role, having honed his skills in two AA-starred restaurants in Yorkshire and taken on prestigious positions such as Head Chef at the Etihad Stadium. He has also worked in private chefing, crafting bespoke dining experiences for exclusive clients. Now, he’s bringing that expertise back to the heart of his home town of Glossop.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team at BANK,” Clarke shared. “This place is an incredible gem for the town, and it’s going to be something truly unique and be part of this chapter”.

We’re Katie and Charlie Wray, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to BANK, opening this Autumn in Glossop’s iconic former NatWest Bank building. For us, this isn’t just a business- it’s a personal investment in the town we love and grew up in.

I’m Katie, Co-Owner and General Manager of BANK. Growing up, I loved dining out and exploring new flavours, and those experiences sparked a fascination with restaurants, not just the food, but the atmosphere, the conversation, and the moments that make a meal unforgettable. After earning a BA in English Literature & Creative Writing and an MSc in Management with a focus on data ethics, I discovered that my true passion lies in hospitality. I thrive on creating spaces where people can connect, linger, and make memories, curating everything from the lighting and music to the menu itself.

Charlie here! As Co-Founder, I’ve always been driven by a love of food, wine, and vibrant social spaces. While I run the family engineering business, my entrepreneurial side and years of experience in bars and restaurants inspired me to create BANK in our hometown. I wanted to design a place that is welcoming, full of character, and genuinely reflects the spirit of Glossop, a venue where friends, families, and visitors feel at home.

BANK isn’t just about great food – it’s about celebrating community. From working closely with local farms and suppliers to hiring local talent (including our Glossop-born Head Chef, Ryan Clarke), every element of BANK is rooted in the Peak District and the people who live here.

And our drinks programme—from expertly mixed cocktails to carefully curated wines and refreshing non-alcoholic options is designed for every occasion. The building itself tells a story. Originally built in 1897, we’ve preserved much of its historic charm; soaring ceilings, elegant stonework, and subtle nods to its banking past- while blending in contemporary touches and warm, inviting interiors. It’s a space that feels classic but relaxed, refined but comfortable, and built to bring people together.

Glossop is enjoying a renaissance, and we’re proud to be part of it. BANK is our way of giving back to the community, celebrating heritage, and creating a new local landmark where people can eat, drink, and simply enjoy being together.

Northern Plates. French Flair. A Proper Glossop Welcome. 

A beautiful new Bar & Brasserie called BANK is set to open this Autumn in one of Glossop’s most recognisable buildings, the former NatWest Bank on the high street. 

Owned and operated by Charlie and Katie Wray, a brother-and-sister team with deep Glossop roots, BANK is more than just a new place to eat and drink. It’s a passionate, personal investment in their hometown, designed to celebrate the past while ushering in a bold new era for this much-loved High Street building.  

“We’re sixth-generation Glossopians,” says co-founder Charlie Wray. “We grew up here. We live here. This is our town, and we want to give something back. Glossop deserves spaces that feel exciting but authentic, and we believe BANK Bar & Brasserie can become a new kind of local landmark.”  

Originally built in 1897, the venue retains much of its historic charm, with a design fit-out that respects its banking past through elegant architectural details, high ceilings, and subtle nods to the building’s former life.  The look and feel is classic with a twist, relaxed, beautiful, and built to bring people together.

The menu will offer brunch, lunch and evening dining, with dishes rooted in British and French classics, elevated by Northern flavours, and seasonal local produce. A strong cocktail programme, curated wine list, and non-alcoholic options round out the all-day appeal.  

BANK isn’t just serving great food; it’s serving the community. From working with local farms and high street suppliers to hiring local talent (including Glossop-born head chef Ryan Clarke), the Wray’s are serious about keeping their business deeply rooted in the Peak District, Derbyshire.  

“We’re not a chain. We’re fiercely independent,” says Katie Wray. “Reviving a piece of local heritage, we’re transforming a once-essential community building into a vibrant new space, still honouring its original purpose with playful nods in the design. As high street staples like local banks fade, we’re celebrating what once was, while supporting what is: sourcing fresh local produce and collaborating with regional talent to bring the space to life.   

With a growing food and drink scene and exciting new venues opening, Glossop is having a moment, and BANK is ready to be part of it.  

“Glossop is enjoying a renaissance,” Charlie adds. “We want to play an active role in that, contributing something meaningful to the town.”
