Proudly independent, we’ve breathed new life into a piece of local heritage, transforming a once-essential community building into what will hopefully become another (albeit one where you’re perhaps more likely to dance, drink wine, or have a pudding). With playful nods to its previous life as a functioning ‘banking cheques’ sort of bank, today BANK serves and celebrates Glossop through fresh local produce and collaborations with regional talent.

When designing the menu, our enthusiasm for French hospitality and cuisine met our fondness for humble pleasures: potatoes, gravy, a Full English, and good old dippy eggs. Our Glossop-born Head Chef, Ryan, leads the kitchen, celebrating regional produce and working closely with local talent to host you at any time of the day, whatever the occasion, in a relaxed and lively atmosphere. And it wouldn’t be a brasserie without a constant flow of drinks and clinking glasses.

Our sharing boards have been handcrafted from trees grown in Glossop, door frames and bar tops have been reworked from repurposed materials, tailored to fit the space with care. The original mosaic floor has been lovingly repaired using colour-matched stones we scoured the beach to find. We’ve picked up prints in Paris, bartered for vintage copies of the Financial Times, and been gifted bespoke artwork from talented friends. Every corner holds a story. A lot of love and hard work has gone into creating BANK, and we want to thank each and every person that’s been a part of its creation.

Glossop is full of characters and stories – shared over many pints in many pubs – and the streets are always evolving. We want those anecdotes to pass through our walls and for BANK to be the place where more are made.
